Precast construction: is it right for a house?

Precast parts are made in a factory and assembled on site. They suit some projects far better than others.

Precast construction uses elements such as columns, beams, slabs, stairs and boundary walls made in controlled conditions and lifted into place.

Where it helps

  • Repeated designs, such as many similar houses or compound walls.
  • Projects needing speed and uniform quality.
  • Sites where on-site labour or water is scarce.

Where it is hard

  • One-off houses with irregular plans.
  • Narrow lanes where cranes and trucks cannot reach.
  • Joints and connections that need careful design.

The savings depend on scale and logistics. We can assess whether precast suits your project before you commit.
